Donald Trump flip-flops, asks for campaign donations

Part of Donald Trump’s appeal to GOP voters was his insistence that he was so rich that he could not be bought by special interests and didn’t need outside money.

It seems that is no longer the case.

Trump claimed he had plenty of money to fund his campaign, and criticized Republican candidates who sought out donors. “I wish good luck to all of the Republican candidates that traveled to California to beg for money,” he recently tweeted. However, a visit to now shows the real estate developer has added a donation page (shown above), where supporters can give as much as $2,700 to the self-professed billionaire’s campaign.

Trump himself has not addressed the donation page, nor answered whether he thinks supporters will see the move as hypocritical or a flip-flop on previous statements.
