Robbers target Washington State Fair’s ‘gun free zone’

Once again, criminals flock to a gun-free zone and wreak havoc on unarmed victims. You’ve likely heard this story before, but only the location has changed. KOMONews.com in Seattle reported that after the Washington State Fair declared itself a “gun free zone,” criminals wasted no time preying on fair workers. The fair had only been open three days when a ... Read More »

Liberals: God can’t stop gun violence, only Obama can

After the shooting in San Bernardino county, liberals did the usual grandstanding over the need for gun control. They also, however, have jumped on a new trend: “prayer shaming” conservatives who offer public condolences. The New York Daily News is the latest participant in this trend, who published this cover today, dismissing their offer of prayers as “meaningless platitudes” and ... Read More »

Robber With a Crowbar vs. a Good Guy With a Gun: Guess Who Wins?

Here’s a good rule of thumb: never bring a crowbar to a gunfight. One criminal learned that rule the hard way recently. CHAMBERSBURG - Know your constituency. It's the first rule of local politics.

The second: What happens in New York City usually can only happen in New York City, and is best kept there.
Policies that fit “The Big Apple” don't fit a town that is, say, known statewide for its Apple Festival. Just ask Democrat Pete Lagiovane, the mayor of this Franklin County town who won't return to office in January. He lost his bid for re-election — to a seat he won unopposed the last time — in part because he signed up Chambersburg as one of New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg's anti-gun cities.

His Republican opponent, Darren Brown, said he knows one thing he'll do immediately after being sworn in as mayor: “The very, very first thing I'd like to do is get Chambersburg off the ‘Mayors Against Illegal Guns' list.”...

Swampscott, Massachusetts Selectman Barry Greenfield is pushing a measure to give police the authority to conduct home searches to check proper storage of firearms.

Greenfield said "state law requires Massachusetts gun owners to keep their firearms locked away or rendered inoperable." There are "600 registered gun owners in [Swampscott]," and the selectman wants police to be able to drop in unannounced, enter the homes of each gun owner, and verify compliance...
