New York’s Common Core-Aligned Standardized Tests Are PAINFULLY Stupid And Awful

Well America, the Common Core-aligned standardized tests that Common Core supporters have zealously trumpeted as college-related and so dramatically superior to all previous standardized tests are finally starting to trickle out for public consumption. New York is one state that has released some Common Core tests. The tests for elementary school kids remain strictly guarded. However, other tests including the ... Read More »

When government bullies children…

Gov. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana recently told a Nashua, N.H., audience about his experience with a school bully. Bullying is a nationwide problem, but the bully Jindal was describing was U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, who recently tried to crush school choice in Louisiana.

Last Monday, March 17, parents in New York City who send their children to Success Academy, a Harlem charter school, filed suit in federal court to stop another school bully, Mayor Bill de Blasio, from denying them previously arranged space in a public school building...

Unbelievable: Liberals Protest Koch Brother’s Huge Donation to Hospital

The Koch brothers are at it again. Their right-wing political Panzer Division descended on a New York City hospital over the weekend to protest (!) the addition of a new ambulatory care center. What the hell, Koch bros? Why not pro-America?

Sorry. That’s not quite right. In fact, it was the New York State Nurses’ Association, the NAACP New York State Conference, and SEIU Local 1199, among others, whomarched on the soon-to-be-built David H. Koch Center at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, which was funded in part by a $100 million donation from the man one prominent liberal recently predicted would go down in history as a “famously evil person.”...

Poll: Only 39% of New Yorkers Approve of Mayor de Blasio’s Job Performance

Only 39 percent of registered New York City voters believe Mayor Bill de Blasio's has done a "good" or "excellent" job during his first two months in City Hall, according to a poll released Thursday.

More than half of the voters polled rated his performance "fair" or "poor," according to the Marist College/The Wall Street Journal/WNBC poll. Just ten percent of voters gave de Blasio the highest "excellent" mark while 29 percent categorized his performance as good.

De Blasio, the city's first Democratic mayor in 20 years, took office January 1 after capturing 73 percent of the vote in a landslide victory in November.

The poll, which is the first of de Blasio's mayoralty, comes in the wake of a series of missteps...

NY Man Charged With Manslaughter After Killing Armed Intruder [video]

A man living in Huntington Station, New York, appeared in court Monday to face manslaughter charges stemming from an attempted burglary back in August in which he opened fire on an armed intruder breaking into his home.

Authorities say that five men worked together in an effort to break into Youssef Abdel-Gawad’s home, which he shares with his brother and parents. Four of the men hid outside behind a metal shed while one man, armed with a gun, went to the back sliding glass door to get inside.

The break-in was caught on the family’s video surveillance system, which was shared with local media...

De Blasio’s War On Education & Children: Kicks 700 Kids Out Of High Performing Charter Schools

Mayor de Blasio brought down the hammer Thursday on three charter schools operated by his nemesis Eva Moskowitz, leaving hundreds of kids without classrooms this fall.

“This has to be the saddest day for the Success Academy’s children, family, teachers, school leaders,” Moskowitz said after meeting with stunned charter parents in Harlem.

“Right now, our kids are being evicted. Evicted out of their school. It’s wrong and we need an explanation. You’re going to have to ask Mayor de Blasio what the motivations are for a decision that will hurt so many children now and, frankly, forever.”...

Report: Nation Faces Clown Shortage

Send in the clowns — please!

As the “Greatest Show on Earth” returns to Brooklyn Thursday, circus folk fear a national clown shortage is on the horizon.

Membership at the country’s largest trade organizations for the jokesters has plunged over the past decade as declining interest, old age and higher standards among employers align against Krusty, Bozo and their crimson-nosed colleagues.

“What’s happening is attrition,” said Clowns of America International President Glen Kohlberger, who added that membership at the Florida-based organization has plummeted since 2006. “The older clowns are passing away.”...
