Gallup Poll: Percentage of Uninsured Americans Has Surpassed 2008

Defenders of Obamacare will point to a new Gallup poll showing that the percentage of Americans without health insurance continues to fall -- to 15.9 percent so far in 2014, down from 17.1 percent in the fourth quarter of 2013.

But compare the most recent percentages with those posted by Gallup in 2008, when 14.8 percent of Americans lacked health insurance coverage.

Poll: Only 39% of New Yorkers Approve of Mayor de Blasio’s Job Performance

Only 39 percent of registered New York City voters believe Mayor Bill de Blasio's has done a "good" or "excellent" job during his first two months in City Hall, according to a poll released Thursday.

More than half of the voters polled rated his performance "fair" or "poor," according to the Marist College/The Wall Street Journal/WNBC poll. Just ten percent of voters gave de Blasio the highest "excellent" mark while 29 percent categorized his performance as good.

De Blasio, the city's first Democratic mayor in 20 years, took office January 1 after capturing 73 percent of the vote in a landslide victory in November.

Poll: Just 11% of Black Youths Say Life is Better for Them Under Obama

President Obama is going to have to do a whole lot more than promise to make things better for young blacks under his new “My Brother’s Keeper” initiative, because 71 percent of voters in a new poll say life for the group is the same or worse than before he came into office.

Rasmussen Reports reveals that just 16 percent of likely voters believe life for young blacks has improved since Obama's 2008 election, while 22 percent say it has gotten worse. Some 49 percent said nothing has changed.

Among blacks, some of the results are worse, with just 11 percent believing life has gotten better for African American youths over the past five years. On the slightly positive side, only 8 percent believe it has gotten worse...

Gallup Poll: 65% Unhappy With Government

Americans are more dissatisfied than ever with the U.S. system of government and how well it works, with almost two-thirds unhappy in a new poll.
