Harry Reid’s At It Again: Now Spreading Baseless Claim that Koch Brothers Don’t Pay Corporate Taxes

Senate majority leader Harry Reid has a whole page on his official Senate.gov website devoted to revealing "THE FACTS ABOUT THE KOCH BROTHERS." One of the alleged facts promoted on Reid's website is that the Kochs do not pay any corporate taxes:

“They are known for bankrolling conservative, Libertarian and Tea Party causes and became poster boys for corporate tax reform last year when an Obama Administration official suggested Koch is organized as an S Corp. and so pays no corporate level taxes."...

Fat Cats and Democrats

The progressive mind functions by means of mythic narratives that have tenuous connections to reality. Cops shoot a black man, and Eugene Robinson ofThe Washington Post begs “please don’t shoot me,” indulging the myth of a lethal American racism endangering black people’s lives, even though black offenders kill 90% of black murder victims, and 85% of interracial crime is perpetuated by blacks against whites. Criticize Sandra Fluke for demanding that a Catholic university’s health care plan subsidize her birth control, and you’re waging a sexist “war on women” for making them pay a whole $30 for their monthly pills. Another particularly persistent and long-lived political folk tale is that conservatives and Republicans are the party of robber barons who use their exorbitant wealth to undermine democracy for their own nefarious ends...

Government health-care diagnosis: Dependency

The claim: The United States is the richest nation in the world, and as a matter of decency should pay for the health care of all Americans who can’t afford to pay for their own.

The truth: The United States is not the richest nation in the world; we are the richest debtor nation in the world. We literally owe trillions of dollars — not just in the national debt, but also in unfunded liabilities for various entitlements.

The problem: The United States doesn’t really pay for anyone’s health care with its own cash supply, but rather requisitions money from individual taxpayers and appropriates it to someone else’s medical bill.

The solution: An educated populace. As Thomas Jefferson noted, education gives “to every citizen the information he needs for the transaction of his own business.” In this case, such education would help citizens to understand that their business — their personal needs — cannot rightly be  advanced at the expense of some other citizen’s life, liberty or property...
